Building big by Liam, Harry ,Yasmin and Michael

Blog Authors, Michael and Liam

We  made bridges out of multi cubes, paper, tape, string, with wood as the base.  The aim was to make a bridge standing without falling over.  It was challenging but we succeeded as you can see from the slideshow.  We designed them as we went along.

AMAZING, AWESOME ROBOTS by RAWIRI AND GREYSEA

HERE'S A REALLY SPECIAL ROBOT

Robots are helpful and they also entertain .  They can discover different things in space.  They can also be used to help going in dangerous places  where humans can't go .   They can be used for movies and making stuff.  They are good in factories and help do hard things.  They can make new things and do house work. They also can cook.  Room six are making our own robots.  We have used cardboard and bottles and a couple of other things that are helpful to use for making our robots.

AROUND OUR INTERESTING CLASS by HIKARU

ROMAN NUMERALS
REFLECTIONS

In class we have been learning about lots of things.  One of the very interesting things we have been learning about is Roman numerals.  It is really cool!  The other most enjoyable thing I enjoyed was Self Portraits because it is art.  I love art.  The other amazing thing we already  learned about is fables.  Fables are short stories that teach someone a lesson.  I will love to talk to you all day but sadly I can't.  Thankyou for reading this.

BRIDGE VALLEY CAMP

Bridge Valley Camp
At the end of Term 2 we went to The Bridge Valley Adventure camp for two days with Room 5.  We had a blast!  We all experienced challenges we hadn't undertaken before and everyone stepped up and did their very best.  The weather was superb so we were able to enjoy the water activities which may not have been much fun if it hadn't been fine.  This photo shows our class on the adventure playground.  Watch this space for more photos.

OUR TRIP TO TALLEY'S by HIKARU, ELLA, PACEY AND MICHAEL

We  went to the Talleys factory because we were learning about sea life and fish.
We ate scones and had to wear blue things on our feet to protect them from the water
It  was really fun.

Talley's big truck.
One of Talley's Boats.

As part of our Making a Living off the Sea unit we visited Talleys’ fish factory.
We had to put on white coats, hats to cover our heads and little blue slippers to cover our shoes.  We had to do this to prevent any contamination with the fish.
We were taken around the chiller and saw many different fish species all waiting to be filleted before being sent to markets around the world.  We didn’t know there were that many different types of fish that can be caught in our region.
We saw the huge building that is full of ice.  The ice is used by the fishing boats to keep the fish as fresh as possible.
We were really lucky to be given scones with cream and jam in the big canteen Talleys workers use.
It was a very interesting visit and we learnt a lot.
